5 Minutes for Someone Else

This week I’m continuing this series about some simple things you can do in just 5 minutes to improve your day (of course, you could definitely spend more than 5 minutes, but if you can just give 5 it will be an improvement to your day).  We are all busy people with busy lives and finding time for one more thing in our week or day can be such a challenge. But what if we took those things that we KNOW are good for us and would improve our day and found just 5 minutes to spend on them? Here’s one example.

Take 5 Minutes for Someone Else

Have you ever had someone take time out of their day to do something for you and it made you think “That just made my day!” ?  In the midst of our own busyness, sometimes it’s easy to forget that other people are running around just like us and could use an encouraging word or a hand up.

Now, if you’re a wife and/or a mom you spend a lot of your day doing things for your family already, but what if we took just 5 minutes to do something for someone else, maybe even just out of the blue?

  • Send a quick text message to a friend to let her know that you’re thinking about her (and maybe even a difficult circumstance in her life).
  • Call your neighbor from the grocery store and see if she needs anything that you could grab real quick while you’re there.
  • Stop to pray for a friend – and then text and let them know that you did!
  • Grab an extra coffee for a coworker and take it by her desk.

Sometimes we all need just a little help or encouragement and when you make someone’s day in just 5 minutes you will feel blessed too.

What are some simple ways you can bless someone today??
